Scorpio, known for its dark watery depths, reflects the process of internal or underground transformation. As a fixed sign, it is the concentrated phase of the season. During the Fall, Scorpio reflects the process of decay & compost - the gooey transformation as matter breaks down to become fertilizer. 

Death feeds Life! 

Water as the element of life, purification, and the carrier of memories covers earth's body in the same way it fills and fuels our own. Metaphysically, Water reflects emotional tides and bonding, the creative imagination & the divine. Water is a shapeshifter expressing its essence through gas, liquid and ice, reminding us of the ever-changing cycles of life and death. Have you ever been in a hail storm? It's the trifecta water experience: clouds, rain and ice. Then it's all soaked up and spit out somewhere else. 

Perhaps this too is what happens to us after life. The earth is fed by our dead, then feeds us back with tangible provisions and loving relationships, just like our breath feeds the trees which in turn, produces the gas we need to survive - oxygen (the molecule in water)!

We long to connect, merge, escape, return. Let's breathe together like it's our last time, let's share in the angst and awe of death, let's scream the name of our loved ones into the sky, into the fire, let's conjure the spirits on my land. I promise, I have fed and tended to them well. They will play nice! 

Let's breathe for all our non-physical friends (even though they don't need it). About a year after Keith died, he visited me on one of my big mushroom journey's to relay the simple message: it is us - the living - that need to rest in peace. Let us breathe in that peace from their memory, let us be purified by the experience of love, no matter how brief it was.

I will expand my outside altar if you'd like to bring an object or a picture to charge during the breathwork. You're welcome to bring ashes/dust to throw into the fire or into my grave. You can also place them on the altar.

Bring something to share for the potluck if you feel called, as well as a yoga mat and anything you may need to be comfortable/cozy.
